Today I'm going to talk about, I've got a lot of things to talk about, but I'm going to talk about one thing in particular. I'm going to talk about knowledge and wisdom. Knowledge and wisdom. They're not the same, are they? No, of course not. Not the same. The title of this message will be wisdom colon the application of knowledge. application of knowledge. One thing I learned down in Georgia at Hope Bible Church in Georgia, a lot of Hope Bible Church, this is in Georgia, David Osteen and different guys talked, and I never thought about it. And when I say this to you, you're going to go, yeah, that makes sense. Some churches focus on doctrine, and you should. And some churches focus a lot on application. and you should. But you know there's a difference between doctrine and application, and if you're not careful you can get to where you just become a motivational speaker. Every Sunday you come in here and I give you a motivational speech, not much doctrine, you go out feeling good, you're going to take care of the world, stuff like that. Or you come in and it's just doctrine, which is your learning, but you're not really being taught how to apply it. But you've got to have both. To be a good church you have to have a balance of doctrine, and you have to have a balance of application. And one thing, as I was talking to different people there, trying to learn stuff, and I learned a lot more about rightly dividing. I believe, and you do too, rightly dividing is absolutely true. It explains the Scripture, you understand them now. Before you didn't, you saw conflict and couldn't get things figured out. and I got talking to a guy about it and I said, you know, I got to be careful because you can get to a point of arrogance and prideful where you start to see the scripture and it makes so much sense and now you understand it and you go, well, I got it all figured out. That was the same place I was when I was charismatic. All the stuff, you know, the gifts and tongues and all that kind of stuff, I thought I'd reached my pinnacle. I mean, I'm at the highest I can be in my spiritual walk, which really I wasn't. I was deceived. All right? And so then what happened was I realized I wasn't, and then God taught me. He showed me this, what we was talking about now, right, the divinity. That's what I believe. And so you gotta be careful when you get to right there. I was talking to a guy about it. Two other men, two different conversations, they said, we've been where you are, and you're gonna be okay because you saw it. Because you get complacent, like, I know how to right the divide, I know he's talking to the Jews, he's talking to me here. And if you're not careful, you sit back on your haunches, and I got it figured out now. We cannot ever get there, because none of us have it figured out. When you start thinking that, thank God you're at least thinking it. You see the difference? Because if you don't think it, you don't know you're there. That's when you're in pride. Once you start thinking, man, I think I got it all going on. Then you know. You know right then you don't. And that was a really good lesson. And some of the guys I've been following to study, because there's nobody else around here, and I've been talking and I'm understanding more about how some of these classes, their church is just a Zoom. One guy I've been watching some, I haven't for the last couple of weeks, he'll have 70 people on a Zoom call. You know what a Zoom is, right? And it's just teaching. But see, there's no application, you're just teaching the Word, teaching the Word. And see, we like learning, we like learning, but sometimes you need to apply that. And I got to thinking about how we pray, and it was really amazing. I'm gonna make some modifications in my life where we are now, and hopefully that will transfer to you. But we have to have a good balance here. You know, pride is like high blood pressure. It's a silent killer. Any of you in pride, you don't know you're in pride. You don't know it. You really don't know it. You need somebody to tell you are. Maybe I am. It'll kill you. It'll kill your walk. And there are plenty of people like that. I think that's why a lot of people don't see right the dividing, because they're prideful about what they've learned, that tradition they've learned, what their mama taught them, what their grandma taught them. You follow me? I don't care who taught you. If it doesn't agree with the Bible, it's not accurate, it's not true. Your Bible needs to be the basis of your truth, right? I talked to a guy, let me do this, yeah. I was witnessing to a guy this week, and I know the man, and he's, you know, when I say a good man, he's obviously not a Christian, but he has a good life, you know what I mean? He's not like evil. And so we're talking a little bit, and I said, What's going to happen when you die? What do you think is going to happen? He said, well, I'm going to stand before God, and God's going to look at all the things I've done, and He's going to decide what to do with me. I said, so it's God's decision. He said, that's wrong. It's not God's decision. What do you mean? I said, it's your decision. You get to choose. You choose your eternal destiny. No, and I said, yeah, I said it's based on if you need if you have faith and trust in the crucifixion of Jesus Christ his death stop don't say that name I Said don't what don't say that name Jesus I Knew right then we had something going on. I Knew then we had a serious issue. I said no Jesus don't say that I He said, don't say J-S. He wouldn't even say Jesus. So I figured I got some strange things happening here. Almost sounds like maybe the devil. Don't say that name. I said, that's the only name in which you'll be safe. Oh no, no, no. He said, you believe the Bible. I said, absolutely. The Bible, my King James Bible, no other version, is the only absolute truth I have. He said, that's not true. He said, you haven't searched yet. I said, where'd you find your truth? He pointed right here to his chest. You don't understand how to search for truth. I said, yeah, I do. And he said, no, I found it right here. I said, well, inside of you is not where you're gonna find truth. And then, I don't know, we talked a little bit more and then he got angry. And I'm not angry at all, I'm just talking. And I realized it was getting to the point that, you know, at a point you need to be quiet. And so it went on. What else did he, uh, you weren't there, um, what else did he say? He said, um, oh, uh, I said, uh, I said, uh, are you, I said, are you going to vote? I try to, are you going to vote? I ain't voting. He said, they're going to pick who they want to anyway. Well, he's remember the last election. I said, well, okay, I get his point. And then he said, and he got on to COVID and about that. And he had some ideas about COVID and the mask and that kind of thing. And how he thinks some people got a 25% dose and some got a 50, some got 75, some got 100. That's why some people got sick and died and some didn't. Because that's how they kept up with what kind of dose you got. I can halfway, I mean, yeah, maybe. And we got talking more and more and he said, what's the firmament? I said, it's from the sky up to the heavens. And he said, you probably think the earth's round, don't you? I said, well, all the pictures I've seen is round. You think we've been to the moon too, don't you? I said, well, I guess I do. I mean, I guess. He said, the earth's flat. He said, how can you believe that? Anyway, and so we talked a little bit more and then I said, so you're going to heaven and hell and I told you this that and the other. I said, but you, he said, don't bring up this Bible again. He said, it's not, it's not, I'm not, he said, you believe King James wrote that Bible. I said, no, he didn't. Yes, he did. And I said, Jesus's word, don't say that name. I told you don't say that. I mean, I'm talking mad now. Don't you say that. And so finally, once we all got done, we were talking a little bit, and we had to move around, do some different things. He finally, he came back, he told me he loved me. He said, I want you to know, Gary, I love you. I said, I love you too. But that's a different place to be when you won't. He said, all you had to do was just know what God's name is. He said, what's God's name? I said, he said, if you don't know God's name, you won't go to heaven. I said, that's not gonna get me in heaven. The blood of Jesus, don't say that name. over and over and over. Well, I said it plenty of times. We'll see how it works out. You got to be prepared sometime. You know, I would have never thought I'd run into that. Would you? You heard somebody say, don't say that name? Anyway, I love him too, but hopefully he'll come to his senses. First Timothy 2.4. God wants us all to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. The knowledge of the truth. I told you King James is absolute truth. If you want to study that out, you can go read about how it's laid out, different words, you do numbers. There's all kinds of ways to study this. It's absolute truth. It's one that's attacked over every other Bible, which I ought to tell you something. It's the only Bible that's not copyrighted. We can go out and start printing this today and not have to pay any copyrights on it. Every other Bible is copyrighted. You've got to pay rights. You've got to pay a percent. Everybody else owns the other Bibles. Nobody owns this one. Think about that just for a second. Anyway, we got a messed up world, don't we? You know when Yunkin came in, he's trying to get the non-citizens off the voter registration, did you see that? Yunkin is trying to remove all the non-citizens off the voter rolls. Did y'all know that? It's true, it is true, it is true. Well, guess who's suing him to not do that? The Biden administration, the Department of Justice is suing him to not do that. He's suing them to not, that they gotta keep the non-citizens-only voting rolls. That's where we live. I mean, when you want them off the voting roll, I mean, I don't want them voting. They don't live here. Anyway, I'm gonna get off of that pretty quick. All right, 2 Timothy, 2 Timothy 3, 7. 2 Timothy 3, 7. The Bible says, ever hearing and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. That's what a lot of us do. We learn, we learn over and over and over. You know, in your fingertips, you've got more knowledge than you'll ever imagine at your fingertips. Oh, I know so. Don't be looking, making a face at me. It's your phone. It's your phone. You got anything you wanna know on your phone. You can't go over an hour. Some of y'all can't go through this service without looking at it. I gotta check my message. I gotta check my message. And it's like it's attached to you. It's like it's part of your being. You can't go to eat without it. At our house last night, I left my phone in the car. It's a birthday, I ain't picking it in. Y'all y'all work it out yourself, but I'm addicted to the phone. I'm addicted to it and I'm gonna break it I got I've already been some of YouTube's I was watching I'm gonna I'm gonna do something about it. I can't I can't I bet you I spend five hours day on my phone Check your phone watch you check your phone you wake up in the morning. What's happened? Do you go get your breakfast? Well, that's what happened You come in you drive into work. What's going on? I You take a break, see what's happening. Right? You get back home. Before you go to bed, first thing, last thing before you go to sleep, what do you got? Let me check my messages. Wake up at night to go take a pee-pee. What do you do? Check my phone. Man, it's so bright in here. Am I speaking a foreign language to y'all? There's a problem with that. There's a problem with that. Anything you want you can look up on that phone right at your fingertips. You can't eat with that You can't leave home without it. I don't know can't come to church without it. Look at the youth now We've already got the youth fixed. They can't take your phones over there. I Might do that for all y'all put your phones in the back when he comes just lay your phones down I'm gonna do that. You're you can work it out. Glory to God We I might give me a dumb phone. Anyway, we'll see. 1 Corinthians 8, 1. Knowledge puffs you up. Knowledge, worldly knowledge can puff you up. Don't you know people got a lot of knowledge, aren't they sort of puffed up? Right? I mean, they can be. You got to be careful about that. You get puffed up, and then puffing up is not a good thing. It is not a good thing at all. Colossians 1, 9. Colossians 1, 9. Colossians 1, 9. The Bible says, For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you and desire that you might be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, that you might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God." Colossians 2, 3. is talking about God. And it says, in whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. It didn't say most of them, it said in God, verse two above it, in whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. If you go to the 1828 dictionary, which you should have on your phone, on your computer, knowledge is clear, certain perception that which exists clear certain perception of that which exists Human knowledge is sort of limited. It's based on observation and Your experience and I got it. I said this before this is not me. I wish I could take credit for but it's not see if this applies anybody Good results and good decisions based on experience. Good results, good decisions are based on your experience. Anybody disagree with that? No. Experience is based on bad decisions and bad results. Man, I wish Tat had done that. We talked the other day, it was last night. You know, how many times have you been ready to do something? And something on the inside of you, something said, you know, you better go check and make sure you got enough buttermilk, or you better make sure you need to bring that Phillips head with you, or give me something else. Something told you something you shouldn't have done. But you said, no, I ain't going to do that. You go on and you get out there and go, why did I bring that stupid thing? I got to go back to the toolbox, get that Phillips head. That's a screwdriver. How many times do we know what to do, but we don't do it? And we wonder why all hell broke loose. I wonder why. When I'm driving, when I'm on the road now, it's not illegal, I checked into it. But you know, when I see the policeman out with radar, and I meet cars, I flash my lights on high beams. Because I don't want them to get a ticket. People don't do that anymore. It's not illegal. Isn't the goal to slow down? The whole goal of giving it, they want you to slow down. So if I flash my lights, I'm slowing them down without them getting a ticket. Application. Application. Good results. We want to have good results what we're doing. You get wisdom without experience because you can talk to God about it. You can talk to other people too, but God should be the ultimate source. Wisdom, the application of knowledge. Wisdom. You know, remember you've heard of love and charity. Could you have love, beyond, could you have love for somebody and them not know it? Sure. But what if you exhibit charity? They're going to know it. Charity is like love in action. They'll know it when you exhibit it. That's the difference. I'm trying to get you between knowledge and application. Doctrine without application. If you look up the 1828 definition of wisdom, it says, the right use or exercise of knowledge. It is you're taking knowledge and you're using it properly. Wisdom is taking what you know, what you've learned, and using it in a proper way. You can know all kinds of stuff. Most of it's useless. Would you agree? I love, do y'all love useless information? Don't you like stuff that's just sort of weird? Yeah, that's pretty cool. I like that stuff, but it's no value. There's no real value. It says, wisdom, exercise of sound judgment in avoiding evils and doing good. So now your wisdom is making a decision not to do something evil, but to do something good. I like that. And like, you've heard of prudence? Prudence means just you don't do something bad. Use some prudence there. Prudence is a subset of wisdom. Wisdom's a big category. Prudence is, I wouldn't do that if I were you. We're all familiar with prudence, right? I don't think I'd do that if I were you. Prudence is like avoiding evil. When you operate in wisdom, there's hope in that. You have hope. If you don't offer wisdom, you might not be doing what's best. You know, I could be wrong with this. I don't think I am, but I could be. This occurred to me this morning when I woke up at 4.20 to see what my phone was saying. Do you ever have trouble with sin? Whoever has trouble with sin, raise your hand. My hands up. Have you noticed something? See if I, I mean, why you had to get so old before you have wisdom, understanding? I put something together, and I think you'll understand it. It seems like the closer I stay with Jesus, the less I sin. The farther away I get, the more I sin. How do you stay closer to Jesus? Read the Word and pray. Y'all need to experiment with that just a little bit and see how it works. I think I finally got that one. I think I do. You think about people you know, used to come to church, don't go to church anymore, and just watch your life. Church is not everything, but it's a good indication of where you are. Right? It's a good indication of where you are. And when you look at people, when they start sinning, what's the first thing they do? You don't see them in church. I can see them somewhere, and they run down the other aisle in the grocery store. Y'all, just like you do, same way you do. Oh man, yeah, there's that preacher. I mean, right? Even one of us, you don't want to have a conversation because they don't know what's going on, but you know inside of you, you're evil, you're wicked, bad, wrong. You made some terrible decisions. And so I'm going to, man, I'm working really hard. I think I got it, that part. Now I've got to apply it. I've got to apply it now, because sin separates you. You pull away, and you don't come to church. I mean, that's the first sign. You don't do this, you don't do that. You don't read your Bible. We can fix it, I believe, if we just stay closer. I really believe that. I think you see a lot of people that are depressed. You ever been depressed? That's probably what I struggle with. I struggle with that more than anything, just depression. It's not fun, is it? It ain't fun. You just get down and, you know, you don't want anybody to see you, and you need to be by yourself, and you don't go anywhere, right? And you think nobody loves you, and everybody hates you, and, right? Nobody cares about me, and nobody sees me. Can't they see I'm hurting? No, we can't read your mind. That's why you have fellowship. You come and talk to people. You come to your church family and say, I'm struggling with this. You get help from somebody. I think a lot of that, though, and I can see it in different people's faces, I think it's where they got wisdom to do something, but they didn't like the wisdom that they got. You're going against God. I don't mean you're not saved, but you're, you know, you're, yeah, that's a good one. Sometimes you've prayed till you got your king. You didn't like your first answer, you prayed till you got your king. I'll explain it. My kids don't act right. Well, are you teaching them? Yeah, but they're just wild. They don't listen to me. Why don't they listen to you? Biggest mistake I made with our kids, well, not the biggest, I made many of them, but they would listen to me. I could tell them to do something, Michael and Allison, they'd do it pretty much, pretty much. They wouldn't listen to Brenda. And I asked, both of them would say, oh, we got, I said, why don't y'all do what your mama says? Oh, we got three or four times with her. But you do what I say. I know we got one time with you. And so what I wished, if I could go back over again, I should've been more, when they didn't respect her, I should've been right behind, I should've, I should've said, what did you say? I should've done it. But I was saying, she's gotta figure it out. Just discipline them, make them do what you got, make them do it. But that ain't in everybody. But that's on the daddy, man. Be careful, it was on me. If I could go back again, I'd have gone and said, what, Allison, what did you just say? You ain't gonna do what? I'd have fixed you right then. Either one of them, I mean, either one. But that's just... Look at the way you work. He don't do this, she don't do that. Why? Because nobody's disciplining them. They do what they want to do at work, right? Nobody's gonna tell me what to do. I mean, oh my gosh. I mean, it's all over the place. You know, I talked about this in my testimony. Some of our houses, we have kids, it's like a restaurant at mealtime. Pass out the menu. I ain't eating this, I ain't eating that, and so you're cooking three or four things. You're teaching your kids, they're gonna get exactly what they want, and if they get challenged, well then they, oh, I ain't gonna do that. You think I'm being mean? I'm not being, Cook the food. When they come to our house, I don't make something special for Brody and Ella. I mean, they're gonna get peanut butter and crackers or tostitos, whatever, you know, and cheese. Well, they don't like it. I don't care what they don't like. It's what we're gonna have. You'd be surprised they end up eating. I'm just trying to help you. I mean, pass out the menu. I don't know. Y'all got your own families to raise. I'm just trying to help. I don't have all the information. I don't have all I told y'all before I told this I got it one of my testimony I talked about I Brought that came on to me about teaching about children down in Georgia I gave the story about if y'all heard a story about me getting spanked go to church We'll do it again. I Thought 12 years old And I said, Brenda said, I shouldn't have said, but anyway, you know, by the time you start getting hair on your body and, you know, your face and your armpits and, you know, testosterone. And I decided I wasn't going to go to church. I didn't like that. Always had tie. You guys don't like to wear ties. You just got to get you a big enough neck size, man. You get your shirt that fits your neck and your tie is no problem. But see, you got ties so tight, they choke you. Had a little clip-on tie, you know, the little clip-ons. I'm like, I put a little clip on time. Back then, you dressed up to go to church. You didn't come like we are. And I decided one day, I told dad, I said, I'm not going to go today. What? I ain't going. I made my mind, I'm not going to go. Well, he goes in. He kept his belts inside the closet door on a nail. And it's probably about a 40 inch long, inch and a half wide. And he took that with me, and he persuaded me to go. But I hadn't told all this exactly, but I remember being mad. Remember me telling you I was mad? Because when you come out of church, back then you'd take everybody's picture beside the Easter lilies and stuff like that. Y'all remember some of you older people? And so we're all standing out there. I need to bring it and show y'all. My face is all twisted around. I got a snarl on my face like I'm so mad. So then I tried one more time. I tried the next Sunday. You know, I said, I just got to be a little more aggressive, a little more, you know, like, you know, and say the right thing. And this time he went and got the 40-inch, inch-and-a-half piece of leather, and then he whipped me to where I cried like a little girl. In other words, I went beyond anger. I went to where this is bad. And after that, I never questioned going to church again. And my point is, I'm a minister now. I'm born again. My parents weren't even saved back then, but they said, we're going to church, we're going to, my parents were not saved. We're going to a Methodist church. I didn't know what the gospel was. I laughed when they got back where Pansy sits, there's the guy with one of them Humphrey Bogart hats on, you know what I'm talking about? You know, the hat, what do you call it, in a fedora, what's that hat? Huh? Well, you, Well, it's got a little peek in front of it. But anyway, back where she sits, about once every service, she'd go, Amen! And we'd just giggle because somebody spoke out loud in church. That's what I remember about that. Amen! Oh, he said something in church. My point is this, who's telling you who is running your house? Are your kids running your house, or are you running the house? You can fix it. I mean, you can fix it, but you need to be my best friend. I mean, I'm going to be good friends. When y'all pray, what do you normally do when you're praying? Just come on. What do you normally do when you're praying? What are you normally doing? Talking to God. Well, what about? You're ashamed to say, aren't you? You won't! Thank goodness you told God, I need this, I want this, I want a better job, I want more money, I want this, I want my wife to straighten up, I want my husband to act right. I mean, all these different things, right? I want a new car. I don't know what, I mean, I want a boat, I don't, whatever, all kinds of stuff you want. Motorcycle, big screen TV, whatever it is. How often do you ever pray and ask God, God, I need some help in making a decision. When was the last time you said, God, I need you to help me. I got some decisions to make and I don't know what to do. Do you remember doing that? Do you think he would help you or he wouldn't help you? Do you think he would help you? You think he'd speak? Oh, Pastor Gary, by God. Do you think that's going to happen? No. But do you think sort of as you walk your life out, you know, you have thoughts about what to do. You might, I don't want to do that one. And so you go back and you say, I'm going to pray a little bit more. That was my point. I still ain't got there yet. That's when you pray till you got your king. Who understands what I just said? Raise your hand. Okay. I'll explain it. Well, you act like you've never done it. Oh, the heck, I haven't. Most of the time, I just won't pray. I don't wanna know the answer, so I'm not gonna ask him about the answer, because once I get something on the inside I want to do, then I'm obligated. If I never ask him, I ain't gotta do anything. Right? That's with your spouse. I mean, I got like three plants to plant. It's been like all week. She said, they're in the pots. And she said, you had time? No, I haven't had time yet. She said, well, at least water them so they don't die. And I wanted them, so I got that going. I'm no different than y'all are. What should I do about church? What should I do about my in-laws? God, help me make this decision, and I'll bet you bottom dollar that if you don't do it, then I'll look at your face in a week from now, and you ain't gonna be happy. Because you're fighting what God's told you do you ain't gonna do it You don't want to do it and it's too hard to do and so all of a sudden you're upset You might be going back and you know drinking a little bit or smoking a little bit all kinds of stuff happens Because you're not happy with where you are because you're rebelling against God He ain't gonna make you do anything That's why we have free wheels. We get to choose. What do you pray? How many times have y'all heard me pray and ask God for wisdom? I mean, that's always, always. God, I need wisdom. At nighttime, God, please help give me wisdom. That's in James. And of course, you got to believe he's going to give it to you and not doubt it. Asking for wisdom, what to do? Of all the people you need advice from, you don't need it from some other man or woman. You need it from God. God's gonna give you perfect advice. Go ask your friend about something. You think they're gonna tell you the truth? They're gonna tell you what makes you feel good. You might have a friend to tell you straight. I got some people here to tell me straight, but God'll tell you straight. He'll give you direction. He's already seen down there. He knows what's out there. He'll give you good instruction on what to do. God, please help me! You're praying for all these other things, and God knows all the stuff you need, but go to Him, go to the sovereign God and say, God, please help me! I don't know what to do! You may be mad about this going on, mad about that. I remember I worked the stupidest thing I ever did a long time ago. I worked at the nursing home in Stewart. I worked for service master. I was in high school. I worked second shift. I've always worked. I had been no sissy guy. Always working. And so I'm up there, and I'm doing it. I mean, I was picking up trash when I lost my other job in Brennan City. People talk about me on 220 between churches. I'm picking up garbage on the side of the road for $10 an hour. So don't y'all talk to me about working. I'm up there doing that thing, you know. You're buffing the floors. You're buffing all the floors. You're buffing them, buffing them, buffing them. And these two guys kept saying, man, they still making you do that? They made you clean up vomit. You got down and cleaned up that vomit? And vomit's hard to clean up. Poop is nothing. Vomit is hard for me. I mean, would you agree with that? But vomit is a whole other category. Anyway, and so they kept saying, I can't believe no man would do that. You letting him tell you what to do? What kind of person are you? They boss you around, making you clean up. That's somebody else, blah, blah, blah. You know what I did? I was working about midnight, probably about 15 to 11. I dropped the handle on the service master and walked out the door. I didn't say bye, see you later, or nothing. And when I walked, I felt like, man, I showed them. And then it was probably by the next day I said, you're a jerk. They deceived you. They did that delivery to trick you. Your friends told you that. You don't do that to the job. What's wrong with you? Anyway, I still regret that. But boy, I showed them, didn't I? You think they cared? No, they didn't care. Treat people right, man. Treat them right. Just because somebody's done you wrong, don't mean you do them wrong. The Bible talks about that, for crying out loud. Anyway, when it's talking about the king, remember when the Israelites said, we want a king, we want a king in Samuel. And then Samuel went to God, and God said, tell them they don't want a king. Samuel goes back to them, You don't want a king. Oh, yes, we want to be like everybody else. We want a king like everybody else. God said, okay, give them a king. And look who they got, King Saul. That's my point. You be careful when you pray. You can pray all the way through what God's told you, the inclination. You can pray all the way through that. I got an answer. No, you didn't get the answer he wanted to give you. You prayed till you got the answer you wanted. Trying to help you. You know, if you're in God's will, would you ever get depressed? I don't think so. I'm talking about me, too. I mean, I don't think you would. If you're in God's will, if you're working for Him, if you're applying the doctrines you're being taught, I don't think you'd ever get depressed. I don't know. I don't know that. I know most of the time when I'm depressed, it's because I'm not really in His will. I'm talking about me. Talking about me, talking about you, talking about me. And then the guys, one of the guys speaking out there, Chase Massengill, he's a West Virginia boy, and he was speaking and he went, go to Numbers 22, Numbers 22, 12. Numbers 22, 12. Y'all remember Balaam and the talking donkey? Remember that story? Numbers 22, 12. And God said to Balaam, remember Balaam was a prophet, that they said, I want you to come curse Jews. The king said, come curse the Jews. And so he gets down there and what did I say, 20, 22, 12. Yeah, 22, 12. And God said to Balaam, thou shalt not go with them. You shall not curse the people for they're blessed. God told Balaam, you're not cursing anybody, they're blessed, don't even go with them. That's pretty simple. Don't go, they're blessed, don't curse them. All right, skip down to 2219. Balaam talking. He said, now I'm gonna go to 18, 18, 18, 18. And Balaam answered and said to the servants of Balak, if Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I can't go beyond the word of the Lord my God to do less or more. Funny he brought up, if he were to give me all kinds of silver and gold, where'd that come from? It's probably what he wanted. If he gave me all the money in the world, I wouldn't go do that. all right verse 19 now therefore i pray you tear ye also here this night that i may know what the lord will say unto me more what did he do god just told him don't go don't curse him i blessed him and he said even though y'all come on he said come on go with me well if y'all give me all the money world i still wouldn't go but Let me go tonight and pray and see will God say unto me more. He went back to pray again. I think it's pretty plain if God says don't do this, don't go there, we need to pray more. But see he did just like we do, just like they didn't like that answer. He got more. Coming on down, finally, God, a little bit later, a little bit later, God told him. Oh, let's go to verse 20. And God came to Balaam that night and said unto him, if the men come to call on thee, rise up, go with them, and yet the word which I shall say unto thee, thou shalt do. Thou shalt, that shalt, that, that shalt thou do." So, see, God changed his instruction. If they come, then you can go on out and go with them, but just you better say, you better say exactly, you better say exactly what they do. Oh, let me get, let's do 21. And Balaam rose up in the morning and saddled his ass and went to the princes of Moab. And God's anger was kindled because he went. You see there? He still didn't do what he said. He said, if they come to you, You can't go with them. He got up the next day, stabbed his ass, went with him. He went out there to him. Totally against what God two times. We can't do these things. God made it very plain. I'm not saying he's gonna speak to you in all of a voice, but he'll communicate with you. I do know that. I do know that. We must apply what we've learned. We have to learn how to apply. We have to learn how to apply. Every day you're probably going to come in contact with some person that you could share something about Jesus with. Something. Every day. Unless you just stay in your house all day by yourself. You still got text, Facebook. You ought to be able to share Jesus with somebody every day. some kind of application, something. In person, in text, in email, something or other. Say His name. You better say His name. Jesus. Jesus. The only name by which you'll be saved. Every knee shall bow in the heavens, on the earth, under the earth. Every knee's going to bow at some point and confess that Jesus is Lord. Everybody. Satan's going to confess. They're all going to confess it. Everybody is. Why not confess it now? You choose your destination. You choose your destiny. God's already made it very plain about that. We gain all this knowledge of the truth, but now we must learn how to apply it. We must be to the point that we will apply it. Not be ashamed to apply it, but to speak about it and tell others about it. When you come for wisdom, First place, go to God. Don't go to your spouse. Don't go to your friends. Don't go to your pastor. First place, go to God. I remember a long time ago, I was so embarrassed. I was, God, we're trying to make a business decision. And I told this guy, gosh, what a jerk. What a jerk. And then I said, I don't think we should do that. I said, because I was praying and God told me that we shouldn't do that. I said, what do you think? He said, what do you mean what I think? If God told you you shouldn't do it, what say do I have in it? I felt that tiny. I thought, what a jerk. I mean, I'm a jerk. Can y'all be a jerk sometimes? I just thought, man, how? I'm supposed to be a Christian. And I just threw out God told me, and he made a very good point. What do I have to say about it? If God told you not to do it, I mean, why are you asking me? Man, I learned that lesson. I don't say that. I'll never say that again. Very valuable lesson. We hide behind that sometimes. God told me, that's just you trying to throw weight in what you want to do, right? That's really what it is. I need some backup, so I'm going to say, come on, God. God told me we should do that. Oh, He did? Be careful with that. Be real careful with it. I'm going to close here, Ephesians 1, 17. Ephesians 1, 17. We have to start applying our doctrine. And I want to encourage you, please, please talk to people. Don't get angry with them. The purpose is, remember, if they're not saved, they're not going to understand spiritual things. You've got to remember that when you're talking to people that aren't born again. You try to talk about Pauline epistles. They're not going to understand that. If they're not saved, they don't have the Spirit of God living on the inside of them. They're not going to understand it. They get angry and mad at you. try to get him saved. The guy I talked about earlier, my point is that he will give his life, not give his life, that's a lie. He will have faith in what Jesus Christ did on the cross. Giving your life don't mean it's not what God wants. Ephesians 1, 17. That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, be given to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him. Good prayer. The eyes of your understanding being enlightened that you may know what is the hope of His calling and what the riches of His glory and inheritance of the saints. Let's just read this out loud, please. And what is the exceeding greatness of His power to us who believe according to the working of His mighty power which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come. He put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him that filleth in all." As a believer, you are in the body of Christ. You have a destiny of heaven at your death or at the rapture when God comes and calls us to be with Him. You get a brand new body. It's going to be awesome. And you live with Him forever, forever and ever. No sin. Can you imagine living in a place where there's no sin? I mean, not even a bad thought, where everybody is perfect. That's what's going to be in heaven. I mean, no sin. Father, we thank you for your word. We know it's true. It will help us learn to come to you, remind us to come to you for wisdom in making decisions. Every decision we have to make, ask you about it. What do you think, Lord? What do you think? And we know that you promised you'd give us wisdom when we come and ask you for it. You would give us that wisdom. So we thank you, Lord. In Jesus name. Amen. Amen. Amen.
Wisdom: The Application of Knowledge
We have so much knowledge at our fingertips. Our cell phones are our bodily extensions, body and soul. God's will for us is to be saved and come to the knowledge of THE truth. How many of us ask God for everything but "wisdom"? We need to get God's direction on how to apply the knowledge we receive from His Word. Sometimes we pray til be get a king. Do you understand? Remember, how the Israelites got King Saul? God finally answered their prayer? Remember how Balaam prayed for "more" in Numbers 22:19? We need to use wisdom when seeking wisdom.
