The Fruit of PEACE!

142

We live in turbulent times caused by economic pressures, political unrest, and tyrannical national leaders. But the lack of peace is not just national, but personal. Many today lack peace, a sense of tranquility, that all is well, within their own souls. Our God is a God of peace! And Jesus Christ before His death gifted His peace to His disciples. He desires for us to experience His peace even in the midst of the storms of life. But how can we experience the peace of God in our hearts and minds? First, you will never know the peace of God until you are at peace with God. You need to be reconciled to God through faith in Jesus Christ! Then you will receive the Spirit of God who can produce in you the fruit of peace. But experiencing peace is also our choice! Paul, in Philippians 4, reveals four keys to experiencing the peace of God in our hearts. Peace comes through recognizing and appreciating God's presence with us! He has promised never to leave us nor forsake us. Peace also come through believing prayer as we cast our cares upon the Lord for He cares for us. Peace comes through proper thinking, mediating on the right kind of content. We need to think on those things that are true, honest, just, lovely, good report, have virtue and are praiseworthy. Then finally peace comes through practicing God's Word. God has promised us a peace that defies human explanation as we put our trust in Him. We can be at peace even in very trying circumstances in life for present with us is the God of peace!
