Limited Atonement

As we turn to the study of our text in John Chapter 17, what incredible comfort we find for the Christian who knows and believes and receives and understands the fact that Christ came into this world, lived a perfectly sinless life and died on Calvary’s cross not simply to make salvation possible for all people, but in fact to accomplish the salvation of His people, the elect! And we claim such comfort and rejoice in this reality by means of the Doctrine of Sovereign Grace known as Particular or Definite Redemption, or, Limited Atonement ... a Biblical doctrine which essentially answers for us the question: For whom did Jesus Die?
