In this text, our faithful Shepherd prepares his disciples for his coming betrayal and what follows. He knew exactly what was coming and yet he willingly and faithfully went forth. He knows what is in the heart of his people, because he knows the heart of man. Yet he died for the sins of his people and redeemed them unto himself. Let us be thankful for his grace.
