The Power of Light

Light is powerful. Scientists and inventors have discovered ways of harnessing and focusing light to do some amazing things. LASERS are everywhere from supermarket check outs to the military to manufacturing to communications. As powerful as light is in the natural realm, in the spiritual realm, Jesus, as the Light of the World, has the power to lead us out of the realm of spiritual darkness into spiritual light-- and in that process transform our lives. Jesus invites us to follow Him, and when we do, we no longer live in the realm of darkness, but now have the 'light of life'. As transformed by His light, we became light, reflecting his light in the world. But why are we such dim lightbulbs? How can we increase our spiritual lumens? This sermon closes with one way we can increase our effectiveness in the world. The world must see a difference in us-- they must be able to see how our relationship with Jesus Christ has transformed our lives.
