Today Radio, the program that looks at current events in the
light of Bible prophecy. As the nation of Israel struggles
to come to terms with the shocking events of the weekend, Prime
Minister Netanyahu addresses the nation. Meanwhile, Hezbollah
threatens to open a second front in Israel's north. Those are
the headlines. Stay tuned to listen to Dave
Dolan's special report on Israel in crisis. It's time now for Prophecy Today,
a look at current events in light of biblical prophecy. Well, Dave
Dolan joins us again as we look at what's taking place in Israel.
Now it looks like Israel has gotten back control. The prime
minister addressed the country last evening and he also warned
and there have been signs that possibly Hezbollah in the north
is going to come into this. So Dave, if you could, could
you give us an update on where we are and what we should be
looking forward today? Yes, Rick, a lot of developments going on. As you said, Prime Minister Netanyahu
addressed the nation last evening, late, nearly 10 o'clock at night
before he finally came on. But he said that Hamas has morphed
into ISIS. They're acting just like murderous
terrorists do. And basically, to summarize,
we can no longer tolerate having Hamas. in the Gaza Strip. He
said we're at just the beginning of what's going to be a long
and protracted battle ahead. He made clear that Israeli forces
will be going into Gaza. He didn't say that directly,
but he made clear that is what's going to happen. That came after
Palestinians said they would start killing their hostages
on video if Israel continues airstrikes. There were over 800
sorties in the last couple days over Gaza. This came as the Israelis
announced that over 900 Israelis were killed in Saturday's attacks. They found one whole community
of 100 bodies, every home had dead people in it, discovered
on Monday morning. Terrible, terrible things. Mobilization,
over 300,000 soldiers, reserve soldiers, have now been mobilized.
And you mentioned Hezbollah, They actually did get involved.
There was some clashes early in the day on Monday after some
Palestinians bombed the border fence and came into Israel, and
Hezbollah forces got involved then. But then last evening,
they launched a barrage of rockets into northern Israel. That was
four hours after the government told everyone to go to their
bomb shelters. And the word I got is people
were fleeing Kiryat Shmona, which is a city of about 18,000 in
northern Israel where I used to live. So the war's intensifying,
and we'll just have to watch where it goes. It's looking like,
again, we are indeed just at the beginning of what will be
a very intense struggle. David, we have just a second,
but there was also news today that Iran was heavily involved
in the planning of this. Can you tell us about that? Yes,
the Wall Street Journal broke that story, but it's been confirmed
by others that there has been a series of meetings in Beirut
where Iranian officials, Hezbollah leaders, Hamas leaders, Islamic
Jihad leaders were meeting and were planning this major terrorist
onslaught massacre, you can only call it, on Saturday of nearly
a thousand Israelis so far, 260 young people at a dance party,
etc. So yes, Iran is probably involved
in this, and Israel will let us know more, I'm sure, about
that. And again, that this will become a full Middle East war
with Iran directly involved is a very likely prospect, I would
