Auto-Transcription Service for All Sermons
Attention all broadcasters,
Fully automatic transcription service is finally available across all broadcasters for all sermons uploaded to SermonAudio! We think it's a pretty big deal.
Overview.
We're using AI smarts to do the work, and to do it accurately. We're doing it 100% on our own machines in our Vault infrastructure for extra privacy and security. It works with both audio and video sermons. For videos, automatic closed captioning is also included. Additionally, you can easily search within the transcript for any particular phrase. And finally, it works with foreign language sermons.
Searching.
The ability to easily search through the transcript of an entire sermon is a pretty powerful feature. Perhaps you can remember just a portion of a phrase from a sermon, but don't want to listen to the entire sermon to find it. No problem, just search!
Keyboard Shortcuts.
Using the keyboard to navigate around something as important as the player is not just for power users. You'll quickly enjoy the convenience of being able to use the keyboard. Tap "?" on any sermon page to view the cheat sheet!
Enabling / Disabling.
In the world of AI, understandably, there can be some confusion and misgivings. And though 100% of the work is done within the privacy and security of The Vault, we have made it easy for broadcasters to turn this feature ON or OFF.
Downloading.
Broadcasters have the option to privately DOWNLOAD the raw text of the full transcript in the Dashboard for use in books, in other publications, or simply to re-format and upload as a publicly-viewable PDF.
Ongoing Work.
The challenge that our team faced at SermonAudio was to develop this feature in such a way that could operate AT SCALE -- handling the thousands of sermons uploaded each week in a timely manner.
With your help, as we continue to expand The Vault infrastructure hardware, we will be able to continue transcribing the entire backlog of millions of sermons.
