Overview
SermonAudio is a platform for preaching, whether it be audio or video. But increasingly, the transcript of a sermon is becoming increasingly important. There are a number of reasons why that is. People have always enjoyed having a printed version of a sermon to read, but it is also vital for searching and translation. So, we’ve now built the tools that take transcripts from “nice to have” to truly indispensable.

Every sermon transcribed.
For some time now, we've been optionally transcribing every sermon uploaded to the site, accurately and privately using Vault AI—our fully local artificial intelligence system. No cloud services. No external exposure. And free for all broadcasters.
And it's not simply the raw transcript presented in a single blob of text either. We also take the extra step of formatting the transcript into intelligent paragraphs, not raw machine output. It becomes easy to read, easy to study, and even ready for print.

How to edit transcripts?
It's easy. Simply go to the Media tab for any sermon and you'll find the transcript for that sermon once available. Expand the widget to view the entire transcript, or click on the Edit button to begin the editing process—manually or via Smart Edit.
Our editor interface is beautifully simple and we've also included an audio player in the interface for those who want to reference the audio while proofreading the transcript. You can download or copy the full transcript in plain text if you prefer to make your changes in another text editor.
The Changes panel shows a record of all changes made to the transcript in the current session. As you make changes to the transcript on the right panel, the left panel will display added words in green and omitted words in red. You can quickly undo individual changes from the left panel by clicking on them and selecting Undo Change. You can also highlight a selection and discard all changes in the selection by clicking Undo Changes in Selection.
Smart Edit is next level.
Then comes the real breakthrough: Smart Edit. Again, powered entirely by Vault AI, Smart Edit helps to remove filler words, repetitions, sentence fragments, subject-verb disagreements, and smooths out those little faux pas that are common in extemporaneous speaking. It even works to flatten idioms into their core meanings ensuring the message is clear, precise, and faithful to your original intent.
The Smart Edit process is essential for preparing transcripts to achieving the highest-quality translations in for our Global Sermons tool. But it’s not just about translation. It’s a powerful tool in its own right—ideal for preparing polished, publication-ready sermon texts, whether for print, study, or archival purposes. It’s powerful!

Conclusion.
We hope these new transcript editing features will be a great help to your ministry as we continue to work together to create the strongest platform for preaching!
