There are a few people in the Bible permitted to see inside of heaven. This passage we find that John is shown the inside of the new heaven and he describes it for us. We see a very real place and this new heaven has a capital city, which is called the holy city, New Jerusalem. Later in this chapter John is going to give us a lot more detail concerning this eternal home for all the redeemed of all the ages.

Celebrating at the Crib, and Calm at the cross. Lk. 1:46-55.Colo. 1:15-20The requirement for reconciliation with God is faith.Let's nail that down right now. We are reconciled to God: not by what we do, not by how we act, not by what we appear to be, but by our faith.Paul tells us that Jesus is the creator of the universe, the head of the church, the very fullness of God. This means something to each of us on a very personal, intimate level: it means that his power is available to you — that he will fill you with strength, and hope, and peace. When you give your life to Christ, fear, turmoil and chaos can become a thing of the past. You don't have to live your life thinking that you are on your own, because his power and strength are available to you. You don't have to live your life feeling as if everything is spinning out of control, because he can and will hold things together. You don't have to live your life overcome with worry, turmoil and anxiety, because he will fill your life with peace. This Christmas season you can celebrate at the crib and be calm at the cross because of what Jesus did for us when he came to earth to pay a debt that we couldn't pay ourselves.

What hope can believers have, when they are under God's discipline for their sin? Psalm 106 prepares us for the opening portion of public worship on the Lord's Day. In these forty-eight verses of Holy Scripture, the Holy Spirit teaches us that, when believers are under discipline for their sin, they can hope in the God Who has made history into a stunning display of His patience, saving power, and forgiving mercy to sinners like them.

The Temple signigfied God's permanent presence among His people in the Pomised Land. Up to the point of the Temple's conclusion, God had moved with his people. But, now He was settling them in a specific location and dweeling amongst them. Permanence is good.

What is the future for Jews, Gentiles and ultimately the Church? Current events do NOT dictate, Scripture does.

The creative work of God's Spirit through the preaching of the apostles brings into being a community of men and women who are marked out as Christ's disciples. This body of Christians is a believing, baptised, faithful, potent, united, loving, joyful, growing community, young but essentially complete in form and function. The infant church is and has what every church should long to be and have in its proper place and fashion, a model of vibrant Christianity.

Church Discipline Principles [0:00] Understanding the goal: Restoration, not exclusion. Personal discipline and resolving conflicts one-on-one. Matthew 18:15-22 [29:01] Step 1: Personal confrontation for reconciliation. Step 2: Involving two or three witnesses for clarity. Emphasizing the goal of gaining a brother, not punishment.

PM sermons are preceded by a Confessional, Catechism, or Historic Creed lesson. Usually 5 minutes or so. Belgic Confession Article Article 28: The Obligations of Church Members We believe that since this holy assembly and congregation is the gathering of those who are saved and there is no salvation apart from it, people ought not to withdraw from it, content to be by themselves, regardless of their status or condition. But all people are obliged to join and unite with it, keeping the unity of the church by submitting to its instruction and discipline, by bending their necks under the yoke of Jesus Christ, and by serving to build up one another, according to the gifts God has given them as members of each other in the same body. And to preserve this unity more effectively, it is the duty of all believers, according to God's Word, to separate themselves from those who do not belong to the church, in order to join this assembly wherever God has established it, even if civil authorities and royal decrees forbid and death and physical punishment result. And so, all who withdraw from the church or do not join it act contrary to God's ordinance.
