Moses is the hero of the Jewish faith, so it is not surprising that the author of Hebrews would mention him as an example of a commendable faith that endures. Out text highlights the faith of Moses's parents and of Moses himself in the exodus. Through his example we are exhorted to walk by faith when we are challenged whether by the temptation of earthly pleasures or the threats of human authorities. Moses's faith mortified earthly pleasures, considering the reproach of Christ as greater value. He chose to identify with the people of God and he looked to the eternal reward.
